**COURSE DESCRIPTION:**
This Advanced Firefighting Course provides both theoretical and practical training essential for effective fire response. The course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to handle various firefighting scenarios safely and efficiently. It covers key concepts in fire chemistry, equipment usage, emergency response planning, and practical firefighting techniques.
**THEORETICAL SESSION – 4 Hours:**
– **Fire Chemistry and Tetrahedron:** Understanding the elements of fire (fuel, oxygen, heat, and chain reaction) and fire classification (A, B, C, D, K).
– **Types of Fire Extinguishers:** Overview of different extinguishers and their uses (PTASS).
– **Emphasis on Wheeled Extinguishers:** Focus on the application and maintenance of wheeled extinguishers.
– **Fire Extinguisher Maintenance and Inspection:** Procedures for maintaining and inspecting fire extinguishers.
– **Fire Suppression and Detection Systems:** Understanding systems used for fire detection and suppression.
– **Emergency Response Plans:** Developing plans and conducting risk assessments.
– **Global Harmonization Systems (GHS):** Hazard classification and labeling.
– **Firefighting Equipment:** Overview of hoses, nozzles, fittings, hydrant valves, and hydrants.
– **Fire Hose Handling and Application:** Techniques for handling hoses, nozzle commands, and fire stream patterns.
– **Foam Firefighting Equipment:** Use of foam carts, educators, industrial and ground monitors, and hose reels.
– **Foam Application Methods:** Techniques such as Roll-on, Bank-Down, and Rain-Down Methods.
– **Water Control:** Managing water supply and nozzle commands during emergencies.
– **First Aid and Casualty Rescue:** Basic first aid treatment and casualty rescue techniques.
**PRACTICAL SESSION – 4 Hours:**
Participants will gain hands-on experience with various firefighting equipment and tactics. The practical session includes:
– Use and application of portable fire extinguishers, hose reels, firefighting hoses, nozzles, and foam.
– Simulated fire scenarios to practice emergency response procedures.
– Application of firefighting techniques in diverse situations to enhance preparedness.
