**COURSE AIMS:**

To implement Health and Safety protocols effectively, workers must understand the importance of Health and Safety within the organization. This is achieved by teaching workers the fundamentals of a Health and Safety Management System and how it is used and applied to identify, mitigate, and assess hazards and controls in the workplace. The iOSH Managing Safely course aims to provide managers and supervisors with an understanding of everyone’s safety and health in the workplace and to enable them to recognize how they can influence, control, and monitor risk while improving health issues in the workplace.

**COURSE OBJECTIVES:**

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

1. Describe the key reasons for managing health and safety in the workplace.
2. Define key terms related to safety and health.
3. Identify how the law impacts safety and health in the workplace.
4. Describe how to assess, reduce, and control risk in the workplace.
5. Identify workplace hazards and risks, their impacts, and how to manage them.
6. Identify how to evaluate and respond to an incident.
7. List the benefits and characteristics of an effective health and safety management system.
8. Describe the principles that develop good safety and health performance.
