Technical Proposal (Training Services) WORK PERMIT RECEIVER
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
A work permit is a crucial tool for identifying hazards associated with specific activities and outlining the precautions needed to carry out tasks safely. Work permits serve as official records of agreed-upon safety conditions and precautions to control hazards associated with the work.
Candidates for work permit receiver certification must complete the following prerequisite classroom courses before taking the receiver’s certification course:
- Hazard Recognition and Control: This course provides participants with knowledge on identifying potential workplace hazards and the necessary elements to control those hazards.
- Lock Out/Tag Out: This course covers the minimum requirements for safely isolating energy sources associated with equipment and processes to protect personnel and assets during maintenance, inspection, and testing.
- Confined Space Entry: This course addresses the dangers of working in confined spaces and the proper procedures for safe entry and work within these spaces.
COURSE AIMS:
The aim of this course is to prepare delegates for the Saudi Aramco Work Permit course, which authorizes specific activities that pose hazards to personnel, equipment, operations, or the environment.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon successful completion of this training, candidates should be able to:
- Define and identify Confined Space Entry.
- State the requirements of the confined space entry program.
- Define the requirements for planning and preparing a Confined Space Entry.
- Identify work hazards and control measures.
- Correctly identify minimum safety requirements and procedures for planning, opening, entering, exiting, and performing work in a confined space.
- Identify equipment, energy, and/or systems requiring Lock Out/Tag Out (L.O.T.O.).
- Apply correct isolation methods to ensure systems are safe before work begins.
- Return equipment to an operational state safely.
- Recognize practices, hazards, and conditions that can lead to incidents.
- List methods to recognize and control hazards.
- List common Saudi Aramco workplace hazards and associated controls.
- Recognize common work site hazards and related controls when issuing or receiving work permits based on General Instruction 2.100.
